  • “Through our junior academic enrichment society I have already dissected a cow’s leg.”
  • I am fascinated with human anatomy and enjoy finding out how the human body works and how the body is able to reach its full potential. My long term goal is to be a surgeon; through our junior academic enrichment society (OWL) I have already dissected a cow’s leg and had a lesson on how to dissect a sheep’s heart. To help me make my GCSE choices my teachers offer guidance as do my houseparents who are always there to listen to me and support me.

  • I love playing the harp as it is such an elegant instrument that gives a lovely sound when you play it. I also have musical interests in piano, and have achieved grade 6. I enjoy playing all types of music on each instrument. My lessons are interesting and my music teachers always encourage me, even when I may not have done enough music practice. I can practise at school as there are instruments available to play on. Recently the school’s Steinway piano was refurbished and I was honoured to play a solo piece on it at a school concert. In addition I have also taken the opportunity to play a solo on the harp at one of our Tea and Music events.

  • “I have gained experience in sportsmanship and have improved my technique.”
  • I enjoy working within a team and the movement of the game, being able to jump and intercept the ball. Netball is very dynamic and I think that it is exciting to play as well as to watch. Through excellent coaching and training I feel that I have gained experience in sportsmanship and have improved my technique partnered with confidence and agility throughout the court.

  • I've been at Millfield since I was seven years old in Year 3. I find school life amazing, the academic study can be quite intense but it is always enjoyable and interesting. The sport is fun, no matter what level you are and I love going to the Music department for lessons or to practise with friends. There is something here for everyone to enjoy. After school there are a range of different activities on offer, it’s always easy to try something new. This term I am involved in choir, ballet, horse riding, athletics, music and hockey.
