Mathematicians excel at UKMT’s Junior Maths Challenge
A team of Millfield Prep mathematicians were awarded 15 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 10 bronze medals at the latest UK Maths Trust Junior Maths Challenge. This means 60% of those who entered achieved a medal placing.
Best in year certificates were awarded to Year 8 Rozalia Moore, Year 7 James Champion and Year 6 Isaac Searle. The top scorers were Year 8’s Rozalia Moore, Boris Findlay, Rebecca Stowell, Emily Bradshaw and Caspian Fowler, who have also qualified for the next Kangaroo round.
More excellent mathematics results come from Year 7 James Champion and Year 6 Isaac Searle, who have been selected to attend the Dauntsey’s Dodecahedron finals on 7 June. Both pupils faced a difficult competition, as the 30 finalists make up the top 3% of the entries.
It will be a fun-filled mathematics day with a prize for every finalist, as well as a trophy for the winner.
