This term, Year 7 pupils have been focused on Russian art in their art lessons and it was fantastic to have the morning exploring Russian culture.

Miss McConnell started the day with a very informative geographical and cultural overview of Russia, which was followed by each group going around four separate workshops. These were: egg painting in art, Cossack dancing (taught by some excellent professional Russian dancers), Russian film studies and filming a scene from Battleship Potemkin with Mr Boyd and his camera crew.

Pupils also learned to speak Russian and had some excellent presentations on various aspects of Russian life by Sasha, Mariia, Artem, Riccardo and Timur. A great experience was had by all.
