Roland Rudd becomes Chairman of Governors

Roland Rudd has been appointed as Chairman of Governors of Millfield Schools following the retirement of Sir John Reith. Roland takes up the role with immediate effect.

As an Old Millfieldian, former parent and Governor since 2016, Roland has had a long association with Millfield.

Roland is Chairman of Finsbury, a global strategic communications agency, which he founded in 1994. Prior to this, he worked as a financial journalist at the Financial Times, The Sunday Correspondent and The Times and was a former policy coordinator for Lord Owen. He is currently a Trustee of the Royal Opera House, Garden Bridge Trust and Speakers for Schools, Chairman of the Tate’s Corporate Advisory Group, Patron of the NSPCC and Governor of Wellington College.

Millfield Prep Headmistress, Shirley Shayler, commented, “I am delighted to welcome Roland Rudd as the new Chair of Governors and I look forward to working with him as we continue to enhance and develop the Millfield education for current and future pupils.
