“The sports coaches, Careers Department and my academic teachers have all supported me in trying to achieve my dream.”
I plan to study sports and exercise science at university as I hope to become a sport scientist. I attended various lectures about course choices which helped me choose the right combination of A levels for entry onto my degree of choice. An ambition of mine has always been to go to an excellent sporting university such as Birmingham or Nottingham, where I can excel at my passion of understanding the biology of the human body and its performance. I believe that studying this subject will help me develop as an athlete in addition to a future career as a strength and conditioning coach or physiotherapist. The sports coaches, Careers Department and my academic teachers have all supported me in trying to achieve my dream.
What I love the most about being part of EAGLES, and the volunteer network, is knowing that you’re helping someone in need, and being able to make a difference to their life. I take part in charity work during lunchtime and after school which helps me achieve a balance with my academic and sporting commitments. The voluntary work has also contributed to my Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. After Millfield I would like to continue my charity work, which perhaps could mean taking a gap year to help children around the world.

“The Equestrian staff have gone to great lengths to help me achieve and perform to my full potential, with expert coaching, amazing facilities and helping find my new horse.”
I relish the overall thrill of horse riding and the experience you get from having a connection with a horse. I feel Millfield offers the best equestrian training and clinics, within a fantastic riding community. Since joining Millfield in Year 9, I have really improved my riding, as the Equestrian staff have gone to great lengths to help me perform to my full potential, with expert coaching, amazing facilities and helping find my new horse, Jimmy. One of the main reasons I enrolled at Millfield was to succeed in my sport, and it is living up to expectations. In addition to riding, I play for the 1st XI hockey and cricket team, and I am hoping to represent England in hockey this year.
I’m a day pupil in Overleigh, which I think helps to get the most out of Millfield and see sides of the school others may not. I can spend all day with friends, but then can go home to my massively supportive family. My favourite thing about being at Millfield is the amount of opportunities and amazing facilities, which have helped me improve both in the classroom and on the sport pitches. Millfield is an international school, and I like meeting people from all different cultures and lifestyles.
