Dr Abbie Pringle appointed Head of Academic Extension
Dr Abbie Pringle will become Millfield’s Head of Academic Extension with effect from September 2018.
Dr Pringle will build on the recent developments in academic extension and enrichment across the school. She will ensure opportunities for academic enrichment are available for all pupils and that academically able pupils can work at an advanced level and set standards of excellence for others to follow. In addition, Abbie will oversee applications to top universities including Oxbridge.
With a background as a teaching and research fellow at St John’s College, University of Oxford, and from her role as Director of Studies at Wychwood School where she was responsible for academic monitoring, Abbie brings with her a track record in developing pupil study skills and creating strategies to support pupils in their academic progress.
Dr Pringle currently leads the Advanced Learners programme at Didcot Girls’ School, whilst also teaching psychology. A published academic and experienced speaker, her career has included teaching psychology to degree level as well as overseeing psychology undergraduate admissions at St John’s College, University of Oxford.
