Millfield Pre Prep pupils enjoy Liquid Nitrogen Show at Millfield
Reception and Year 1 had an amazing time at Millfield finding out about what reactions occur when we mix things with nitrogen. There were explosions and experiments that both children and staff were involved in!
Nitrogen exists as a liquid at −320°F and pupils used it to freeze tennis balls, bananas, flowers and even cream to make vanilla ice-cream. The ice-cream was yummy and the whole exercise proved very exciting.
At the end of the show pupils found out what happens when liquid nitrogen is put in a bottle with the lid closed. The bottle was put in a bucket of water and small balls. The reaction was amazing and the explosion sent the balls and water everywhere!
