Year 1 pupils create Mathematical Christmas cards

Pupils in Year 1 used their mathematical skills to make their very own Christmas cards this year.

They used their skills in measuring and counting to create beautiful Christmas cards with Christmas trees for their families and friends. First, they cut pieces of paper into two-centimetre wide strips.

To make their Christmas tree, they needed to cut the first strip so that it was ten-centimetres long, then the next strip had to be two-centimetres shorter.

They continued this pattern until they made the final strip of two-centimetres, creating a spectacular gift for their families to enjoy.
