Shapwick Manor in Shapwick village opened as a boarding house in 1956 with RH Goodwin as Housemaster. Barry Hobson took over in 1958 and ran the house until 1981 when the house closed and moved into its present building on Butleigh Road. Northfield and Shapwick Houses were amalgamated into one house in 1985. There are three common rooms, a pool table and table tennis.
Shapwick is the closest house to the campus facilities and classrooms. The boys are proud of their house and passionate about supporting each other in the school environment.
Tristan Kingsford will start as Housemaster of Shapwick in September 2019. Previously, he was Housemaster of The Grange since September 2016 and an Assistant Housemaster at Butleigh for four years. He is a Geography teacher and Senior Tutor at Millfield and coaches the Senior Colts rugby squad. He loves anything to do with sport and is known for playing the odd game of rugby and cricket.
