Politics essay shortlisted for prestigious John Locke Institute Essay Competition
A Millfield Upper Sixth pupil’s essay on political ignorance has been shortlisted for the prestigious John Locke Institute Essay Competition.
Upper Sixth pupil Wyn Chio’s submission, which explored the expectations of political awareness per age group and how this is measured, was shortlisted out of 885 entries from 86 countries in 6 continents.
The highly competitive essay writing competition, with a coveted first prize of a fellowship to the institute, is run between Oxford University and Princeton University.
Wyn will now attend an awards ceremony, as well as an academic programme with the other shortlisted candidates from around the world, at Oxford University at the end of September.
